well Christmas went fast didn't it!!?

It didn't seem like you were here very long now that you've gone, I wish you were here still. But I think you and benji had some fun!!

When I woke up this morning the snow had completely melted overnight, the temperature was going up yesterday, and you could hear the 'drip, drip, drip' of the water of the snow melting. It was really lovely to wake up on christmas day though and find it snowing - I think that's never happened to me before!! An actual white christmas!!

But I think that's why it seems like you weren't here very long, because we had lots to do!! Lots of presents to open, and chocolate to eat!! But not so much mummy and josh time, huh?

And people being ill, that took up some time as well!! You were ill for a bit, benji was ill, then Mark, and now Thomas has got the dreaded lurgy virus and has been ill since yesterday!! here's a picture of him this morning..

Fried herring

Benji's artwork, well, sort of.

This is Benji's colouring from nursery this week, apparently he wanted to use all of the colours.
He had his last day on Friday, and he had a little going away party that we went to, and all the babies ate those dried fruit bars you used to have (we took them in for them, and gave the staff chocolates, hardly fair, but they said they're not allowed to give the children sweets!)

Tomorrow we have some of Thomas's family coming to wish Benji a happy birthday (for Monday) and Kirsten is here already. Tonight we had potato wedges with a nice green salad and some fried herring. It was very nice, and I remarked how much you wouldn't have liked it!! Benji looooved his fish and threw his cucumber on the floor.

Me and Thomas are going to have the rare experience now of going out in the evening, it's possible one of us may accidentally start sleeping as we're usually in bed by 9.00p.m, but we'll see if can stay up a bit later!!

This picture's just to show that blue skies have been seen here on occasion this week - this is to be noted and appreciated as it has been grey, grey and more grey for at least the last couple of weeks!!

But apart from the weather, me & benji hope you're feeling better, here's a little video (that starts off out of focus but gradually gets clearer!) where I completely fail to get benji to say anything like 'get well soon joshua' (he would have said it if you had asked him too!!) Hopefully you're well on the way to recovery now, but I did lots of chanting for you this week and sent you some healing :-*

I've been eating a gluten-free diet the last week or so, that means no wheat or rye (no pasta or bread, or biscuits or cake) and am learning to love rice cakes and all things vegetable. This is to see if it helps my joints feel better, which it does seem to be doing, and I'm sleeping better as well. So now you've got two parents eating super healthily - poor you!!
I thought we should take Benji to Macdonalds though on the Saturday as a birthday treat, as that will be the second only ever time he's been!!

This is a picture of me today at my favourite spring of the moment, it's in the middle of an old folks home, but no-one's shouted at me yet, so hopefully they don't mind me popping about!!

That's it really, not much news from us. Benji's had another bit of a cold, (as usual) and a bit more teething (as usual) but he's sleeping much better at the moment (hooray) until 7a.m some mornings, and he's going to bed a bit later around 7/7.15.
He's starting his new nursery next monday (on his birthday) I'll only take him in for an hour or so, and the same Tues, just to start getting him used to being there. Then we fly over to you on Wednesday (another hooray). I've just seen the weather forecast for Redhill this week, it's all looking dry so hopefully a thumbs up for your match on Sunday...

Benji getting a story

This was benji yesterday, we went to our new friends in Trekroner in the afternoon and benji was able to get some story telling going on!! We went on the bus, but they wouldn't let us on the first one because only 2 mums with prams are allowed on at the time, and they were already 2 prams on there. So I left the buggy at home and took benji on the reins (he had a great time crawling around on the bus floor because he wouldn't sit nicely, hmm!)

Then, we (well, Benji) had a little go on the trampoline on the way home, it was already getting dark by then (4p.m) As you can see, he hasn't quite found his trampoline legs yet, but I'm sure he'll get there!!!!

Today we went to see Bue and Jason in Copenhagen as they invited us and Thomas's brothers and sisters for brunch to celebrate Jason's birthday (which is next week when he'll be twelve just like you). We had eggs and sausages and bacon which was very nice and here's a video of the danish 'happy birthday' song as sung to Jason today!! (and they sing hurrah, hurrah, hurrah alot, 'cept it sounds more like hoo-wha to me?!!)

Benji and the piggy

here's benji last weekend at the shopping centre in Roskilde (which is called Ro's Torv)

We found a toystore, here's a video of benji talking to a piggy (I uploaded it to your youtube account) the second I turned the video off, he said 'piggy' really loud and clearly, but you'll have to take my word for that!! http://youtu.be/gTnIahQ_3AE

It was our first trip to the shopping centre, I saw a 'game' type shop. There's a burger king upstairs, but no macdonalds, (there is one somewhere but I can't remember where). There are ever ever such a lot of clothing shops, especially for women, full of black and grey sparkly things!! 

We went shopping at Føtex (supermarket), which was unremarkable. This was benji reading the aforementioned toyshop brochure to keep him happy whilst we did the shopping!!

he's had another cold this week, so is a bit of a tired and snotty bunny (or piggy if you like) but it doesn't seem to be spoiling his appetite any!!

It's his last week at nursery next week, and his last day on Friday. The nursery leader asked me if we would like to take some little bits of food in for the children to eat as a little goodbye, but no sweets!! (they're not allowed!!) what a shame for benji, as that would be such a good chocolate opportunity!!

today it's been another grey day, after I finished my work today, and before I picked up Benji, I cycled to one of the springs I like, and sat there for a bit, which was lovely and peaceful, and it has a lovely energy there.

Then I went to pick up Benji. It's starting to get dark already when we leave (around 3.15/3.30) so I'm using my bike lights now. When we get home, Benji likes to play turning it on and off (on and off, on and off - you get the idea!!)

He didn't eat his spaghetti dinner, he still doesn't seem to know that toddlers are supposed to love pasta (but he ate fiskefrikkedeller and potatoes and salad, and then bread and little sausages at nursery - so basically didn't stop stuffing his face all day) but ate two bowls of pudding that Thomas had made (it's a danish thing that's a bit like lemon yoghurt pudding with biscuits crumbled up into it) You can see the (very messy) results here!!

and here's some pictures from when we went to the Millhouse for your birthday treat, and we were laughing at benji because he kept dipping his chips in barbecue sauce and sucking it off, and he had it all over his face, and then I felt really bad because even when I wiped the sauce off, his skin had gone all red from having it there!!

Elephant hooa

This is Benji going to school this morning. It was a windy day and I didn't want his ears to get cold, so he wore his 'elephant hue' (pronounced ellyfant hooa!) which is a little hood that keeps little danish children from too much danish weather.

When I picked him up later in the afternoon, he was running round with one of their baby listeners (not allowed) and was told that he had eaten alot of pizza for lunch, and then quite alot more pizza!
I went and met a new friend today Regan, who lives near to Roskilde University where Thomas works. She has two little boys and some quite good toys (especially a big firestation) that benji will definately be up for playing with.
It was grey all day, and quite windy, just your usual for Denmark in November, and now I'm making chilli for dinner with potatoes and green beans.
